Vote for Kyle for LLS' Man of the Year

When I first met Kyle Garlett, he was awaiting a heart transplant after heart complications arose from his multiple cancer treatments. His original diagnosis dates back to 1989 - almost 22 years ago. His road to survival was bumpy to say the least. Kyle had three separate
battles with Hodgkin's disease — a secondary leukemia (four total cancer diagnoses in all). He is one of the lucky ones.

I was participating in the 2003 Honolulu Marathon for Team In Training, a fundraising arm for LLS. Kyle was one of the cancer victims we were sponsoring. Not only did Kyle make it through that year, but he met his future wife on our team. They were married and soon after Kyle received a heart in 2006. Since that time, he has not wasted his energy and continues fundraising for LLS as a prticipant in Triatholons and in 2009 & 2010 in the Ironman.

He is an inspiration to everyone and a real fighter. His story rivals that of other athletes like Lance Armstrong. He is a true hero. Go to the link above or below and vote for Kyle before May 14, 2011 with a tax-deductible donation of $5 (or more) and then pass this along to all your friends to donate.
